Prisum Healthcare: 31 Years of Excellence in Healthcare June 2025

Prisum Healthcare marks 31 years of continuous activity in the pharmaceutical market in Romania and the wider region. Founded in 1994, the company has established itself as a key player in two strategic sectors: dietary supplements and human blood plasma-derived products.

Current Figures and Future Outlook

Over the years, Prisum Healthcare has experienced consistent regional growth: in Romania, its team of 135 employees is targeting a turnover of over EUR 40 million, while its Greek subsidiary, with 26 employees, is aiming for a EUR 4 million turnover in 2025.

The company is strengthening its presence through strategic partnerships and international expansion in countries such as the Republic of Moldova, Bulgaria, Turkey, Germany, and the United Kingdom, as well as through sustained investment in its product portfolio, its people, and technology.

An Integrated Model Built on Two Pillars of Expertise

Prisum Healthcare’s vision is driven by two major business lines:

1. Dietary supplements, supported by a solid portfolio that includes internationally renowned brands such as Himalaya, Vitabiotics, and Bio-Kult, distributed through pharmacies.

2. Human blood plasma-derived products, developed in collaboration with esteemed partners such as CSL Behring and Biotest.

Beyond logistics and distribution, Prisum Healthcare offers its partners a comprehensive platform of integrated services, including medical promotion, marketing, logistics, pharmacovigilance, regulatory affairs, quality control, and assurance.

Looking Ahead: Investment in Plasma Collection Infrastructure

A major step in the company’s evolution is its move to become an active player in the field of human blood plasma collection, through the decision to acquire specialized centers in Germany. This strategic investment paves the way for developing a similar network in Romania and Greece, in line with evolving national legislation and European regulatory standards.

"For 31 years, we have invested in health—but above all, in the future. Entering the field of human plasma collection is an important yet natural step for us. We aim to contribute directly to the development of an ethically grounded and strictly regulated donation infrastructure. This is not just a business investment; it is, first and foremost, an investment in the safety and well-being of patients in Romania and the region," said Ionela Nicolau, CEO of Prisum Healthcare.

"We are fully aware of the responsibility we bear in the plasma-derived products market. We are committed to improving the lives of patients who rely on the therapies we distribute—products that save lives. This is precisely why our projects are ambitious: we aspire to be more than just a distributor," added Sumer Tyagi, Development Director at Prisum Healthcare.

In an industry that is constantly evolving, Prisum Healthcare remains committed to the values that have guided it over the past 31 years: responsibility, excellence, respect, and care for the patient. The future holds new opportunities for growth, to the benefit of patient communities in Romania and the wider region.
